XLRI PGDM(GM) hosted Mr. Gopal Krishna, Country Head Market Function & Product Head – TCS iON, Tata Consultancy Services Mumbai: CXO Session
The event began with an Inaugural Address by Kautilya Dubey, XLRI Jamshedpur, who welcomed the guest speaker, Mr. Gopal Krishna and the GST members, cohort PGDM (GM) offered a warm welcome.
The session’s guest was Mr. Gopal Krishna, Country Head Market Function and Product Group Head – TCS iON, TATA Consultancy Services Mumbai.
Mr Gopal Krishna spoke about several facets of leadership and how it has to be contextualized in ever changing dynamics of contemporary world. He began discussing the qualities required to be a successful leader in any firm. The distinguished speaker explained his career trajectory, how he has seamlessly navigated across several domains in his enriching career.
Mr. Gopal Krishna also explained the challenges that he had faced in his professional experience to date, and he explained how tactfully he has been dealing with all his challenges
He opined that the contemporary business leaders should be adaptable to the global disruptions especially post pandemic. He also enforced his emphasis on cross functional learnings that make managers leaders in truest sense. He has explained strategy as important dimension for any organization and he explained TCS ion journey and how it has been a pioneer in conducting online exams for recruitment boards smoothly throughout the country.
He also spoke at length on contextualising the strategy in accordance with the times we live in.
He was asked about his views on the digital transformation in India and how managers should partner in this digital transformation. He also dovetailed on market dynamics, consumer behaviour and business models when entering new markets. Mr Krishna stressed the need for building a comprehensive ecosystem, prioritizing customer satisfaction and fostering synergy among the stakeholders.
The session ended with a few questions from the students on strategy, product management and leadership. Mr Gopal Krishna answered to their queries and wished the students of XLRI PGDM(GM) an exciting year of learning and prosperous careers ahead.
