XLRI PGDM(GM) has completed the CXO Session: Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy 27th February 2023
Jamshedpur. The event began with an Inaugural Address by Avinash Ragi, XLRI Jamshedpur, who welcomed the guest speaker, Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy. Prof. Kanagaraj Ayyalusamy offered a bouquet.
The session’s guest was Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman & Board Member-Cyient.
Mr. Reddy started with a presentation about his journey and his company. He begins by sharing the overview of the company and the vision, mission, and values of the company. He then continued by sharing his journey and how he started Cyient and also spoke about the succession planning of Cyient. He also spoke about the entrepreneurial mindset – its importance and how we should develop it. He also discussed the PPT paradigm he uses, which stands for People, Process, and Technology, Tools, and Training. Process refers to SOPs, process innovation, knowledge management, quality management, and global ERP, whereas people refers to hiring, keeping, retraining, and rewarding employees. Also, he discussed the positive cycle of innovation, which is comprised of two parts: services and solutions. Although solutions include process innovation, open innovation, and patents, services include business model innovation, corporate innovation, and digital transformation. Then he discussed how Cyient began making early acquisitions and from then, from 1999 to 2005, it developed globally. He also discussed the company’ transformation through the use of new markets and design-led production. Customer Nudge, Engineering Services, First Attempt, New Exploration, and Inorganic Route are the 5 steps of design-led manufacturing.
The session proceeded with a fireside chat moderated by Divya Parimala Enamandra who queried Mr. Reddy about his early days while starting Cyient and what role will Cyient play in the future of technology. Following that, a few audience questions were answered to continue the discussion.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Avinash Ragi, XLRI Jamshedpur, and Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy were offered mementos by Ms. Anshu Kumari.
