XLRI Jamshedpur’s Platinum Jubilee: Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankar to Inspire the Celebrations

XLRI Jamshedpur, the first B-School of Independent India is delighted to announce the distinguished presence of the Honourable Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar, at the Tata Auditorium, XLRI Campus on December 10, 2023. The eminent leader will grace the on-going Platinum Jubilee Year Celebrations, commencing at 2 PM. Joining the Vice-President, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, the Honourable Governor of Jharkhand and Mr T V Narendran, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Steel Ltd & Chairman of XLRI will also grace the occasion.
This momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in XLRI’s legacy, celebrating 75 years of academic excellence. The presence of the Honourable Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar adds immense prestige to the event, underscoring XLRI’s commitment to fostering leadership and knowledge. The grand inauguration of XLRI Platinum Jubilee Year was done on October 11, 2023 in the Tata Auditorium, XLRI Jamshedpur Campus by Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, the Honourable Governor of Jharkhand.

Fostering social consciousness among students is one of the hallmarks of Jesuit Business Education, and at XLRI we lay great emphasis on inclusive and sustainable growth of people and communities and strongly advocate social responsibility alongside corporate activities”, said Fr S George S.J., Director, XLRI Jamshedpur.
With the legacy as the first B-school to introduce sustainability in the curricula, XLRI is actively recruiting more faculty members specializing in sustainability issues. Greater engagement with corporate entities on sustainability projects are being worked towards. Another aspect of social engagement at XLRI is managing the Jamshedpur Management Association, probably the most high-performing chapter among all Indian student management associations. This initiative attempts to bring together government, academia, and industry to spread management education among the entities and people who ideally don’t have access to this.

Upcoming Events:

The International POMS Conference was organized on December 4-6, 2023 on the theme “Envisioning the Future of Operations for Sustainability” for academicians and practitioners worldwide to unite, exchange ideas, and explore innovative approaches to redefine Production & Operations Management as a field. On December 9-10, 2023, XLRI will be hosting its Alumni Homecoming, bringing together past and present leaders for a celebration of legacy and shared experiences. To mark the 75 years of XLRI’s labour and industrial relations research and education, XLRI in collaboration with the Leeds University Business School, Leeds, the UK and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, New Delhi are calling on the academic and research fraternity to submit their chosen work to be presented at the two-day International Industrial Relations Conference at XLRI in Jamshedpur from January 8-9, 2024. XLRI’s MAXI Fair, a key annual event since 1979, is scheduled for January 20-21, 2024. Dr. Sharad Sarin’s legacy continues as management students delve into research challenges, attracting industry giants like HUL, ITC, Nestle, and Cadbury. The International Conference on Ethics & Responsibility in Business focusing on ‘Enabling Social and Business Responsibility’ is scheduled for February 2-3, 2024.
Further events such as Corporate Leaders Conference, Doctoral Consortium, Conference on Sustainability, Ethics & Inclusion and a National CEO Conference are also scheduled for 2024. The dates will be announced soon.
