Arka Jain University: Department of Optometry celebrated Cataract Awareness Month.

Seraikela Kharsawan. Department of Optometry, Arka Jain University in collaboration with its MoU partner ASG Eye Hospital and NSS Department organized a free cataract camp at the Health and Wellness Center of Burudih village (Saraikela Kharsawan).

Prof. Sarbojit Goswami, Program Coordinator, Department of Optometry, Arka Jain University, said that cataract is the main cause of blindness in our society, if it is not treated at the right time, it can also lead to serious eye problems. June is observed as Cataract Awareness Month.

Shyam Bihari Sharma, Chief Officer, ASG Eye Hospital, spoke about throwing more light on this and creating awareness and timely treatment of cataract among the general public.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. SS Razi and Dean of School of Health and Allied Science, Dr. Jyotirmoy Sahu encouraged the Department of Optometry and inspired them to do such work for the society in future.

Program Coordinator of Optometry Faculty Prof. Sarbojit Goswami, Prof. Parasnath Mishra, Prof. Rajiv Sinha, Prof. Anoop Kumar Singh, SRK Kamlesh and Nazrul Ansari of NSS Department were present on the occasion.
